Stompit Sets First World Record

Stompit is as of today the only band where there are only 2 members, sharing drums with their feet, to play wearing gloves at the same, with a female lead-singer/bassist, in weather below freezing temperatures.

Check out this video taken today by Richard Bender, The Hillbilly Savant.

Y'all should take a listen / look at Shovels and Rope. They've been doing the two piece, sharing instruments, dual vocal thing for a while. Perhaps some humility would keep people from walking outta your shows when you profess to be "the only ones in the world" doing something... Y'all should know by now that is an almost impossible task to do something in music that no one else is... Kinda like thinking that whammy stuff wasn't around with King Crimson and Adrian Belew. Other than that, Stompit seems to be the most original playing I've heard out of you guys, I hope you continue in that vein. Perhaps asking Victor and Penny to open for you would get you to see the world outside of CO. Good Luck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts9ENKLLr70 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-BB31-TwPA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tWyIug2qP0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RD09qQjHXsw

Shovels and rope is awesome. However, I can't find any of their live videos where they are both playing guitars and drums at the same time. The two videos you linked had one member playing guitar and one playing drums. So, I see no proof that we're not the only duo in the world right now playing guitars and drums at THE SAME TIME. So telling the truth isn't lack of humility. You are correct, it is an almost impossible task to do something in music that no one else is doing. But we are doing it. And we didn't say anything about whammy bar playing being unique. Not sure where you're getting that from. Jeff Beck and Jimi Hendrix did it before Belew. It also seems like you might be trying to imply we have myopic vision and only focus on Colorado. We regularly travel outside of Colorado to play and record. Take a look at our schedule. And, when we travel outside of Colorado, we get a lot of praise from all the musicians we meet. If you're implying that we are unaware musically, I can assure you we listen to lot of varied artists. Anyhow, it's easy to anonymously criticize on the web. And I'm not sure what your purpose is here. Perhaps you'd like to share some of your music with us? Regardless, we'll continue to work hard at producing the best music we can for whomever chooses to listen to it.
